Easter International MarketMarket Place are set to return to English Street with a fantastic selection of Continental traders this April. From Wednesday 1 to Monday 7 (Bank Holiday Monday) April, a selection of traders from around the world will be offering a mouth-watering selection of continental goodies. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice at this free international event.
Cumbria PrideCumbria Pride celebrates equality and diversity with a music and entertainment event in Carlisle city centre, on Saturday 20 June.
Tom Jones Open Air ConcertSir Tom Jones will perform in Carlisle this summer as part of his 2015 European and US Tour. The music legend will take to the stage on the evening of Friday 31 July 2015 at Bitts Park.
Sir Tom will embark on his 2015 US and European tour in June, which includes one night in Carlisle. Well known for hits including ‘It’s not unusual’, ‘Kiss’, ‘Delilah’ and ‘If I Only Knew’, he is first and foremost an artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.
Sir Tom performed at the 57th Annual Grammy’s at the start of this year and is a coach on BBC One’s hit show, The Voice.
Carlisle PageantThe free Carlisle City Council event will celebrate the city’s history and heritage and will link in with the ancient proclamation of the Great Fair (Saturday 29 August).
The Pageant Puppet Parade and Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday 22 August. The programme will include lots of family friendly fun, including face painting and street entertainers.
The programme will also include Best of Carlisle Market stalls between Saturday 22 and Wednesday 26 August, followed by an International Market between Thursday 27 and Monday 31 August.
Tour of BritainThe Tour of Britain, the UK’s biggest professional bicycle race, is set to return to Carlisle.
Cyclists doing the Tour of Britain this year will race around Cumbrian roads not once but twice for the first time ever. Two stages of the iconic Tour of Britain cycling event will take place in Cumbria this September.
Stage three will take place on Tuesday 8 September, and will see the cyclists power their pedals from Cockermouth to Floors Castle, Kelso, after visiting Carlisle. Two days later on Thursday 10 September, they will travel from Prudhoe to Hartside Fell, Cumbria, with the route including a trip through Brampton.
