Road
The M6 motorway, the main north-south arterial road between England and Scotland, passes to the east of Carlisle, with three junctions providing easy access to the south, east and north of the city (Junctions 42-44).
Carlisle's new Northern Development Route feeds directly into Carlisle's main business park at Kingstown. It has already significantly improved transport links with West Cumbria, bringing Carlisle closer to the lucrative developments on Britain's Energy Coast.
With a direct link to Kingmoor Park business site as well as to the A595 and M74, the new road will be a major factor in promoting the economy of north Carlisle.
