The Making Of

The movie has been a massive collaboration between Scott and his listeners. They have helped with everything from filming themselves, creating music, making animations to designing posters, and spreading the word about the film in extremely inventive ways.

Scott has not only recruited the help of his listeners but also the help of some of the biggest music stars in the world to produce the film which tells the story of the two-day live music event which was attended by 40,000 people, mainly from the local area, and enjoyed by millions of people all over the UK who were listening to R1 and watching on BBC and online.

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills said: "Having somehow staged my own musical a few years ago, I did wonder how difficult making a movie could possibly be; it turns out it's really hard! None of us have had any idea what we're doing. Fingers crossed it will actually be finished before our big premiere!"
