Hostels

From student accommodation to study centres, Carlisle can offer a choice of cheap hostel accommodation for those travelling on a budget.

Adjacent to the castle are the Old Brewery Student Residences which provide accommodation for visitors during the summer holidays. The single rooms are complemented by excellent amenities including TV lounge, self-catering kitchen, laundry facilities and bicycle storage, and are an ideal choice for those looking to stay in comfortable surroundings on a budget. The flats are a short distance from the city centre and are a great option for a cheap summer break in Carlisle.

On Hadrian's Wall is Birdoswald Study Centre overlooking the remains of a Roman fort. The 17th century farmhouse provides 4-star hostel accommodation on a self-catering or full board basis (groups of 15 or more).
