Tourist Information Centre

If you are looking for ideas for a weekend break or just planning a day out, you can be sure of a friendly service and inspirational ideas from Carlisle's dedicated tourist information staff.

As well as providing a wide range of local maps, guides, leaflets and souvenirs, the helpful staff can book your accommodation, suggest places to visit, supply Day Rover passes for the Hadrian's Wall Bus, provide fishing permits, and give you plenty of information on walking and cycling routes in the area, among many other useful services.

The Carlisle Tourist Information Centre is currently based in The Lodge at Carlisle Cathedral while restoration work is carried out on the Old Town Hall (it's usual home). It is located right in the centre of Carlisle's ‘historic quarter', and about a 5 minute walk from the train and bus stations.

Whether you are local to Carlisle, on business or on holiday, drop into the Tourist Information Centre for a wealth of ideas on what to see and do in the area.
