Writing Fiction – Reading as a Writer at The Old Fire Station
Literary Event, Sat 20 May 2017
Do you have a story to tell? Do need some help putting pen to paper? If so, then come along to a series of creative writing workshops.
Reading is the lifeblood of writers. This essential nourishment not only inspires us, but can equip us with a masterly range of writer’s tools. This workshop will help you to become a more active reader and focus specifically on language, thereby ensuring that you glean as much as possible from your time spent reading, to help develop your craft.
Having achieved a 1st class honours degree in English & Creative Writing, Darren Harper has taught A Level Creative Writing at a local sixth form for three years, as well as delivering fiction writing workshops at Higham Hall residential college in Cockermouth.
In addition to winning a prize for one of his short stories, and having a play shortlisted by a theatre company, he has published many theatre reviews and was also a co-founder of LitCaff, an open mic event launched to encourage writers to share their work within the local literary landscape.
