As well as providing a wide range of local maps, guides, leaflets and souvenirs, the helpful staff can book your accommodation, suggest places to visit, supply Day Rover passes for the Hadrian's Wall Bus, provide fishing permits, and give you plenty of information on walking and cycling routes in the area, among many other useful services.

The Tourist Information Centre is based in the old Town Hall, right in the centre of Carlisle's ‘historic quarter', and about a 5 minute walk from the train and bus stations. For wheelchair users or those with pushchairs and buggies, a lift provides access to the centre on the first floor.
