Carlisle Music Society (formerly North Cumbria Recitals) presents six concerts a year between September and April. At these concerts musicians of the highest calibre perform chamber music of all genres including piano and vocal recitals, string (and other) quartets and trios.
Thursday 28 February - Jack McNeill, clarinet with Viv McLean, piano, David Le Page, violin and Clare O'Connell, cello.
Jack's back! He last played for the Carlisle Music Society in October 2016 with the Gildas Quartet.
Jack McNeill, originally from Cumbria but now based in Sheffield, works throughout the UK and Europe. A Britten-Pears Young Artist between 2011 and 2016, he performs as a soloist and alongside the Gildas Quartet. He is also a member of the newly formed Loki Ensemble, Drawlight quartet and Ed Bennett’s DECIBEL.
Jack is an Open Space Artist in Residence at Aldeburgh Music 2016-18 with his project Propellor. His work as a freelance player includes the London Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble 360, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and many more.
A passionate educator, Jack teaches clarinet and gives regular workshops and coaching at the University of Birmingham.

Single tickets can be bought at the door or from the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre (01228 598596) - £14. Entry for full-time students and under 18s is free.
