Event Location: Bitts Park
Global superstar Jess Glynne will perform at Bitts Park, Carlisle on Sunday 4 August, bringing her instantly recognisable stardust and powerhouse vocals to the city.
Jessica Hannah Glynne first rose to prominence in 2014 as the featured artist on singles ‘Rather Be’ by Clean Bandit and ‘My Love’ by Route 94, both of which reached Number One in the UK. Her incredible vocals and fearless delivery soon had the music industry listening. Fans were quick to follow as the girl from North London has since carved out a unique slot of her own with what has become now her instantly familiar, rousing vocal styling and stamp on pop, soul, R&B and house.
Jess’ debut album ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ debuted at Number One in the UK Albums Chart in 2015, bringing with it the hit singles ‘Hold My Hand’ and ‘Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself’, both garnering her huge international acclaim. The much-awaited second album ‘Always In Between’ released in 2018 unsurprisingly took the UK by storm, catapulting straight to Number One, including top anthems ‘I’ll Be There’ and ‘All I Am’, the former positioning Jess as the only female solo artist to have seven Number One hits in the UK Singles Chart.
Jess Glynne will be performing at Bitts Park in Carlisle on Sunday 4 August 2019, bringing her arsenal of hit after hit alongside her infectious energy to fans in Carlisle.
Plus special guest John Newman.
John Newman, owner of one of the most distinctive voices, writer and performer of some of the biggest anthems including three Number One singles, is a remarkable kind of pop star. He can write, sing, arrange, play and produce his own work and direct his own videos too.
Since bursting onto the scene as the co-writer and voice on Rudimental’s classic ‘Feel The Love’ John has travelled the world, headlining some of the most legendary venues and performing on some of the biggest stages. It was the global Number One smash ‘Love Me Again’ and subsequent debut album, ‘Tribute’ which also spawned the huge hit single ‘Come & Get It’ that established the Yorkshire man as one of the UK’s most singular talents and consistently successful artists. Global monster ‘Blame’, which sold over 4 million worldwide, gave John his third UK Number One single. John also recorded and featured alongside Sigala and the legendary Nile Rodgers on the massive hit ‘Give Me Your Love’ and remains very much in demand as a songwriter having penned singles for Paloma Faith, Kungs and Jacob Banks to name but a few.
To date he has sold over sixmillion singles world-wide and will be a fantastic addition to the Jess Glynne concert at Carlisle this summer.
Also featuring Germein
Australian sister band Germein have been turning heads across the globe with their unique brand of indie pop rock songs and signature harmonies. Having wrapped up a 15-date UK stadium tour with Little Mix, siblings Georgia (guitar), Ella (bass, electric cello) and Clara Germein (drums) have just kicked off their 2019 Headline UK Tour following the release of their latest single Little Part of Me.
Germein’s popular hits including Talking and Knocking at My Door are the taste of a new Germein created, recorded and produced at home by Georgia Germein. “The energy put into this song has paid off – with style, plenty of sass, edgy guitars and a soaring chorus shows off a range of influences. Their tight harmonies show off how perfectly their voices work together and they that they have musical finesse to be reckoned with” - Line of Best Fit (UK).
The trio are very excited to be opening for Jess Glynne on her 2019 summer tour.
The event will begin at 4pm.
