Event Location: Hammonds Pond
This event is part of the 40th Birthday celebrations for PAC Therapy and Counselling in Carlisle. PAC provides art therapy, music therapy, and counselling to children and young people in and around Carlisle who are struggling with emotional, interpersonal, and mental health issues. As a small charity they rely on funding so that they can provide their service for free. They would like to invite the community to join them in celebration of their charity, to raise awareness of the work they do and the children and young people they support, as well as raise money to help them to continue their important work which is increasingly in demand. The welly walk will be five laps of Hammonds Pond which is around 5k, and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. They encourage participants to wear wellies to take part, because often when people are struggling with their mental health, it is like walking through mud in wellies. Wearing wellies is an optional novelty not a requirement. However, there will be a special prize for the jazziest pair of wellies worn on the day! This event is free, but they encourage all participants to help them in their charity fundraising by asking for sponsors for their walking challenge. This is a family friendly fun event and individuals will not be timed, but there will be a reward for every participant who has registered and completes the challenge!
