An opportunity to hear about some of the city's main historic features.
Part of the Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, a national programme of free, short group walks encouraging people to become and stay active for better health, wellbeing and happiness.
Please note this is NOT a detailed guided history tour. Rather it is a stroll, chat, and introduction to the city's past for those wanting a gentle morning's exercise with purpose.
Walks will take place on the following dates:

Thursday 11 September
Thursday 2 October
Please check with the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre the day before each walk to check that it has not been cancelled.
Booking is not essential but advisable, as the walk is limited to 12 participants. Advance bookings can be made at the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre in person or by phone on 01228 598596.
Participants should meet under the gateway into Carlisle Castle at 1.15pm.
Accessibility: except for the cobbled entrance to the castle, the route is paved, with one slight and short incline.
Walks will go ahead in all but the most unpleasant weather, so please check the forecast and come prepared.
