Gallery North West is an independent contemporary art gallery in the small, attractive market town of Brampton, Cumbria, nine miles east of Carlisle.
The Brampton Gallery is positioned in the town centre, above the well-established Castle Framing and Gallery on Front Street. Although separate enterprises, the two businesses combine to provide superb gallery space on both ground and first-floor levels, with the added bonus of a high-quality framing and print service on hand. With state-of-the-art lighting throughout we offer exhibiting artists and customers superb exhibition and viewing space.
Accessibility: The lower Castle Framing gallery and framing shop is at street level, however, access to the first-floor Gallery North West galleries is by staircase only. We have produced a 3D Virtual Gallery walkthrough which can be available to view on a tablet or via our website.

Brampton is located right on the doorstep of Birdoswald Roman Fort, situated on the longest continuous stretch of Hadrian’s Wall. In addition, with the Scottish Borders, Galloway, the stunning Eden Valley, Northumberland and the English Lake District surrounding us on all sides, it should be no surprise that we have a wealth of amazing artistic talent across all genres to call upon. Approximately 9 miles east of Carlisle is the bustling market town of Brampton, Cumbria. This busy little place is just 2 miles from Hadrian’s Wall and offers plenty to see and do on the outskirts of Carlisle. Conveniently located just off the A69 which connects Brampton to Carlisle and Newcastle, the town dates back to the 7th century where it began life as an Anglican settlement and is now home to a close-knit community with a thriving calendar of local events.
You can find us in the town centre, above the well-established Castle Framing and Gallery on Front Street.
