You will first meet for a power point presentation that will be given in The County Hotel. If it is your first visit to this hotel, go early to see the Royal Doulton tiled ceilings and passageway and two impressive fireplaces in what was a Billiards Room c1894.

Following the presentation, you will then walk across the road to the railway station to begin the walking tour. Looking for evidence of changes, listening to stories of interesting events and quiet heroes. You will be walking on the platforms, and in the undercroft.

Meet in The County Hotel (old Red Lion) on Botchergate.

Wear warm, waterproof clothing to be comfortable. There will be some steps and the use of the lifts.

Tickets £8 for adults, £4 for children (aged 6-15). £2 discount for a My Cumbria Member and up to four guests. Tickets include a voucher for complimentary regular coffee or house tea at Watts Coffee Shop.
