Drug-fuelled fantasies are not often seen in listings of classical concerts, but that’s the semi-autographical basis for Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, which features a hallucinatory march, a satanic dance, and passion aplenty. The symphony is preceded by Ludwig van Beethoven’s sublimely beautiful Piano Concerto in which bold muscular melodies combine with music of unbelievable, fragile beauty - tonight played by one of the UK’s greatest pianists.
Concert begins at 7pm.

The Sands Centre is situated next to Hardwicke Circus, a 10-minute walk from the city centre. If travelling by car the centre is well signposted from the M6 - if travelling south use junction 44 or travelling north use junction 43 (CA1 1JE). The railway and bus stations are only a short distance away.
