Set within 36 acres of stunning grounds and gardens, Grade II listed mansion house, Netherby Hall nestles in a spectacular location with magnificent countryside views close to the town of Longtown, Carlisle. Hadrians Wall World Heritage Site is also close by and The Lake District is just 45 minutes drive away. With the Scottish border just a couple of miles north, Netherby Hall is ideally placed to explore the southern Scottish countryside and coastline.

Offering guests unrivalled peace and tranquillity Netherby Hall features a Victorian pleasure garden, restored working Victorian stable yard and a working Walled Garden, producing fruit, vegetables and herbs for use within sister Company, Michelin Starred, 3 AA Rosette restaurant, Pentonbridge Inn’s kitchen. There are nine luxury, self-catering one and two-bedroomed apartments and cottages, all dog-friendly. All feature fully equipped kitchen, well-appointed living areas, large bedrooms and luxury bathrooms. Exclusive use of all nine properties provides capacity for 30 guests not including the use of sofa beds and z beds – ideal for large groups. The property has two interlinking apartments making it the perfect location for families wishing to holiday together. The gatehouse, Middle Lodge has its own private garden complete with hot tub. Two electric vehicle chargers are available free of charge for guests’ use subject to availability. Netherby Hall has a dedicated conference centre with space for 24 seats. Including large screen TV with HDMI cable, flip charts & free wifi. Teas, coffees and buffet lunches can all be accommodated.

The border city of Carlisle dates back almost 2,000 years and is most famous for Hadrian’s Wall – the northern frontier of the Roman Empire. Today visitors flock to Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall to walk the ancient footprint of this fascinating site and explore the remains of historic Roman forts, castles and garrisons dotted along the route. Bespoke Summer Experience packages are available during limited dates which would make any staycation unique. Travel in style by horse-drawn carriage driven by co-owner Margo Smith, along country roads to dine at Michelin-starred Pentonbridge Inn or take a romantic carriage ride around Netherby Hall’s 36 acres of gardens and grounds. Netherby Hall is located 12 miles North of Carlisle, beyond Longtown and banks the River Esk and sits on the boundary between England and Scotland. 3 AA Rosette, Michelin Starred, Pentonbridge Inn, sister company to Netherby Hall offers a set 8-course tasting menu which highlights their fantastic suppliers and the best produce grown in the walled garden at Netherby Hall. A complimentary Mercedes minibus transfer is offered to all guests dining at Pentonbridge Inn.
