An afternoon of fun, thought-provoking, and creative activities at Tullie, that encourage connection and reflection.
The Festival is created by many diverse local organisations and individuals who look forward to meeting you.
Hosted alongside the Tullie team, the aim is to bring people together for positive reflection on many issues affecting people and planet.

The Decent Human Being Club
Chat and craft activities, both for you and for children, to explore what decency is and why we want it back!
Carlisle Haiku Poetry Display
Unwrapping and celebrating the many aspects of the city, try the haiku jigsaw, write a green haiku!
Cumbria Wildlife Trust: Work in Allonby Bay
Join a 45-minute talk with Joe Harper in The Auditorium on the Highly Protected Marine Area (HPMA), marine life in the bay, and the more general work Cumbria Wildlife Trust (CWT) are doing to protect, and engage with the communities, in and around Allonby Bay, followed by a Q & A for 15 mins.
Moving Together with Dance Ahead
In advance of the summer launch of The Human Playground, Zoë Leigh Gadd invites you to connect and move together in a welcoming, inclusive workshop. Beginning with an open, guided process, participants will explore movement, physical trust-building and spatial awareness, responding to each other and the space around them.
Multicultural Cumbria: Creating Harmony
Write or draw colourful messages of Unity on a Paper Spinner. Watch the colours harmonise to create a unified pattern as the disc spins. A simple and effective way to demonstrate harmony.
‘Leaves of Dhaka’ mindful social crafting activity
Creating and stitching beautiful textile leaves which commemorate each of the lives lost in the Rana Plaza textile factory collapse in Bangladesh in April 2013.
SpeakEasy – spoken word open mic
You would be welcome to share words, spoken, sung, poetry about you, me, the world and in celebration of the communities in which we live.
Zine Workshop with University of Cumbria’s Student Union
A creative environment where everyone is invited to come and create zines, collages, and pieces of work that exemplify or explore themes such as: themselves, their presence within the community of Carlisle, or their thoughts and feelings about events happening from Carlisle to the other side of the planet.
Pride in North Cumbria: Film Screening
‘I ME US’ film screening, exploring the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in and around Cumbria.
A unique and fun event which is for all ages - and it's all free.
The festival will start at 12pm, and their finale will be at 4pm.
Since 2016 local organisations have created this annual Festival together to celebrate inclusion, equality and diversity and promote unity and wellbeing across the whole community.
