Over the course of 2000 years, Carlisle has witnessed many turbulent times, all of which have left their mark on this great Border city.
Wander along ancient streets, uncover the city’s hidden secrets, admire the medieval Guildhall, and discover the historic significance of the Cathedral and St Cuthbert’s Church.
Tours start at 1.30pm on Thursdays, from 1 May until 25 September. Meet in the reception area of Tullie.
