Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir, formed in the 1890’s, is Scotland’s oldest and longest running male voice choir. Kirkintilloch is situated at the foot of the Campsie Fells on the Forth and Clyde Canal eight miles north of Glasgow.

The choir first performed more than 126 years ago. Today the men who proudly follow in the musical footsteps of the founding members are regarded as being one of Scotland’s leading male voice choirs. Since it began in the 1890’s KMVC has given more than 1,000 performances raising thousands of pounds for countless charities and good causes.

The choir continues to evolve. Built on solid foundations it continues to give performances which highlight its quality and ambition.

Following concerts in Glasgow Cathedral, St Andrew’s Cathedral, Ripon Cathedral, St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth, and Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff, they are honoured, proud and delighted that the magnificent Carlisle Cathedral will soon be added to this roll of honour.

Over the years KMVC have also performed in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, the Edinburgh Festival, Newcastle, Harrogate, Arbroath, Murrayfield, Hampden Stadium and venues throughout Scotland too numerous to mention.

They are delighted to have Sally McLellan Dip T. Mus, as their Musical Director. Sally took up the baton in 1999. Their accompanist for this performance will be Helena Anderson. The choir will sing a varied programme including songs from the musicals, sacred, popular and, of course, Highland Cathedral.

The concert will start at 1.30pm.
