Tales of murder and ghosts in Carlisle’s historic city centre.

Jo takes you on a walking tour through Carlisle’s dark past. Discover tales of murder, executions and ghostly apparitions in the heart of our great border city.

Tours last for approximately one and a half hours through the historic streets of Carlisle city centre. Please note this tour does not go into any buildings or under the railway station.

The tour dates for 2025 are as follows:

  • Sunday 2 February, 8pm
  • Sunday 2 March, 8pm
  • Sunday 20 April, 8pm
  • Sunday 4 May, 8pm
  • Sunday 1 June, 8pm
  • Sunday 3 August, 8pm
  • Sunday 7 September, 8pm
  • Friday 31 October (Halloween extended tour, 5pm-7pm, £15)
  • Friday 31 October (Halloween extended tour, 7.30pm-9.30pm, £15)
  • Sunday 2 November, 8pm
  • Sunday 7 December, 8pm

Tours are recommended for ages 14+ (those under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult).

Tours start from the red post box outside the Carlisle Old Town Hall. They are fully accessible but advance notice of any mobility issues would be appreciated. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome but will have to remain on the lead.

Tickets are £12 per person and are available from the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre (01228 598596) or online at www.skiddle.com. Booking is essential.
